Actor
Robert is a veteran actor of musical theater, improv, sketch comedy, commercials, television, and films, having trained, performed, and taught for decades. He is an alumnus of Estelle Harman Actor’s Workshop, Tracey Roberts Actor’s Studio, The Groundlings, ACME Comedy Theatre (where he also taught and directed), L.A. Connection, and Will Geer’s renown Shakespearean theater and academy, the Theatricum Botanicum. His instructors have included Kate Geer, Ellen Geer, Armin Shimerman, Kathy Griffin, Lisa Kudrow, Mindy Sterling, Cynthia Szigeti, Phyllis Katz, Ari Barak, Deven Green, Travis Oates, Mark Teshner, Michael Donovan, Dennis Parnell, and dozens of others over the years. He is a member in good standing of SAG-AFTRA.
On screen, you may have seen him in commercials for credit cards, fast food restaurants, shampoo, French cars, Asian beer, and other, more forgettable products. He starred in several unaired pilots, hosted a talk show, and has narrated a thing or two. You may have heard his blood curdling screams in a video game or watched him play a fairy tale character.
His true love, however, has been on the stage. Robert was proud to have originated the roles of Stiltz in Stiltz! The Musical, Lance in Polyester the Musical, and Konstantyn in Tsarina the Musical in their respective world premieres. Other credits include Utterson in Jekyll & Hyde: The Musical, Captain Schultz in Miss Saigon, Sylvester in Good News, and Mavole/O’Neil in the Production Company’s Ovation-nominated The Manchurian Candidate. He regularly wrote and performed sketch comedy for ACME This Week as a main company member at ACME Comedy Theatre, which boasted a brand new sketch show every week with celebrity guest stars. His improv shows have varied from short form to serialized long form to song improv.
